A free habit tracker that needs no account

You have installed three habit trackers and deleted three habit trackers. Each one made you create an account before it would show you anything, and each one turned one missed Tuesday into a zero.

What this is

One Minute Magic is a habit tracker that runs in your phone's browser, and it asks you for nothing to start. No account, no password, no card, no app store. You add the habit, you run the 60-second timer, you keep a photo of the minute you did.

Free covers up to three habits. Your habits, your streak and your photos stay on your device — there is no server copy of them, and we never see the photos.

Three things it does differently

1. One minute a day, timed.
A 60-second timer counts the minute for you. The minute is the ceiling, not the floor: it is small enough that you never have a real reason to skip it.
2. A photo of the minute you actually did.
One photo a day, kept on your phone. It is evidence for you, not surveillance of you — nobody checks it, including us.
3. A run that pauses instead of resetting.
If a day is genuinely impossible, you declare it and the run pauses instead of breaking, up to seven days in a row. The streak that survives is the honest one, not the longest one.

Why a minute works

The daily repetition is the part people fail at, not the effort. In a 12-week study of 96 people at University College London, the median time for a daily habit to become automatic was 66 days — and missing a single day did not materially affect it (Lally et al., 2010).

That is the whole case for starting at a minute: a minute is repeatable on the days you would skip a 30-minute session.

What "free" means here, exactly

Free covers up to three habits: no card, no subscription, no renewal, and no trial that quietly ends.

At launch, the first 30 people get the whole thing free — unlimited habits, the 60-second timer, photo proof, honest streaks, certificates, the body log — plus the One Minute Magic ebook, emailed to you. One email address is the only thing we ask for, and that is the only ask on this page.

There is nothing to cancel later, because there is nothing to cancel.

One honest limit

The timer counts seconds and nothing else. It cannot see you, and the app takes your word for it when you mark a day done. The photo is a photo you keep for yourself — it is a record for you, not proof we verify.

If an app claiming to police your habits is what you want, this is not it.

Start with one place

You can try the minute on the next page before giving an email address. The places are free, and there are 30 of them.

Questions

Is this habit tracker really free?

Yes. Free covers up to three habits, with no card, no subscription and no trial that runs out. At launch the first 30 people get the whole app plus the ebook free, for one email address.

Do I need an account or an app store?

No account and no password. It runs in your phone's browser and can be added to your home screen from there, so there is no app store and nothing to install from a store.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Your habits, your streak and your photos stay on your device, and the app keeps working when you have no signal. How offline works →

What happens if I miss a day?

You declare the day impossible and the run pauses instead of resetting to zero, up to seven days in a row. The honest streak, explained →
